About World Time Now

A fast, independent world clock that answers one question well: what time and date is it — here, or anywhere else?

Why this site exists

Most time websites take a few seconds to load, ask for consent to a long list of trackers, and then show you a clock surrounded by clutter. World Time Now does the opposite: the moment the page appears you already see your local time, the full date in your own language, and the exact name of your timezone. From there you can look up any city in the world, or let your device tell the page roughly where you are.

How it works

Every calculation happens inside your browser using the built-in Intl and Date APIs, which carry the official IANA timezone database that browser vendors keep up to date. That means clock changes, summer time rules and unusual offsets such as UTC+05:45 are handled correctly without this site ever contacting a time server. The city list used for lookups ships with the page itself, so searching a place and reading its local time needs no network request at all.

What this site deliberately does not do

  • No user accounts and no login.
  • No analytics profile of you and no tracking across other websites.
  • No geolocation unless you explicitly press the button and allow it.
  • No advertising cookies before you accept them.
